What You'll Experience Here

This website has a three-fold purpose...

To Remember

Remember the mission and the "days never to be forgotten". While we may be on different paths now, we have a common bond through our shared experiences on the mission. To remember those times keeps us connected, to each other and to "our people".

To Connect

Stay connected with us, President & Sister Christensen, and your mission companions. Find out when and where gatherings and reunions take place for each mission so you can attend when possible. We want to reconnect and stay connected with you all.

To Share

See some of our photos and read some of our experiences from our various missions here on this website. Also, feel free to share with us via email your own photos, videos, stories, and updates that we can add to this website.

If you served with David and Deena Christensen in any of their missions, we invite you to join us. We want to update you about what we're up to and hear from you about your own life's journey. This website is meant as a virtual meeting place to do just that.

ABOUT US

David & Deena Christensen

Family

David and Deena Christensen have been married for over 50 years. They are the proud parents of 8 children and the grandparents of 30 grandchildren and are seeing the beginnings of another generation of great grandchildren.

For them, Heaven only exists if families are eternal. They often reflect on the words of their grandfather, W.C. Christensen (1875-1962), who often said when in the presence of his children and grandchildren, “This is Real Joy!” David and Deena know from experience how true that is.

Career

David retired from BYU-Idaho after serving on the faculty for 22 years. After high school, he earned his Associate Degree at Ricks Collage before transferring to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he earned his BS and MA degrees.

After nineteen years in education, business, and corporate training, he returned to his Alma Mater to serve on the faculty. BYU-Idaho and Rexburg, Idaho became their home base for 28 years before moving to Utah.

Service

David first served as a young full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mexico City, Mexico.

As an adult, he served as President of the Chile Santiago North Mission from 1999-2002. He and Deena took some of their growing family with them to live in South America while he presided over a total of 563 young missionaries who gave eighteen to twenty-four months of their lives to share the message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Chile.

David also served as President of the Missionary Training Center in Guatemala City, Guatemala from 2008-2010. Over 2,200 missionaries passed through the training center to begin their service in Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Belize, and Guatemala.

David was called as a Temple Sealer while still living in Rexburg, Idaho. Since moving to Utah, David and Deena have served in the Payson, Utah Temple.

They value the temple beyond expression and consider it a place where Heaven and Earth come together.

In 2023, they were called to serve in the Orem, Utah Mission as service missionaries. As part of their responsibilities, they [insert here what you do].

David and Deena love the Lord and their time serving Him.
